Light Bulb BlackBerry Sync readers, we hope you're enjoying our nation's 142nd birthday today. If you find yourself clicking aimlessly on the web for something interesting to read before you head and enjoy the festivities, tech lovers might want to read this Sympatico MSN piece on hot Canadian technology.

You probably didn't know the incandescent light bulb was invented in Canada, in 1874 (but the Toronto-filed patent by Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans was later sold to Thomas Edison in 1879). And Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, spent much of his time on a farm near Brantford, Ontario.

These technological pioneers paved the way to hundreds of inventions and innovations -- including the world-renowned Blackberry smartphone used by millions around the globe today.

Here we take a look at some more recent tech products developed in the Great White North.
