Flick Fishing - b Flick Fishing - a Whoever said you can't make any money creating games for the iPhone probably isn't an armchair angler. Freeplay, the talented folks behind the popular app Flick Fishing has reached an impressive milestone.

Freeverse, a leading New York-based developer and publisher of iPhone games, has just announced it has sold the millionth copy of its 99-cent Flick Fishing game, making it the first paid application to reach the one million download milestone.

The game lets you take a fishing trip to a number of locations, flick your wrist to cast the line (taking advantage of the smartphone's accelerometer) and wait to see what bites before reeling it in using your fingertip. (My nearly 5 year-old son, Ethan, somehow snagged a 170+ pound Yellowfin Tuna this past weekend.)

Last week's launch of the iPhone OS 3.0 software update now allows Flick Fishing gamers to compare catches with others online while competing in a blackjack-style fishing contest. What's more, in-app purchases of a new fishing location and new fish have been made by nearly 10 per cent of users since the OS 3.0 update was issued.

iTunes owners can use this link to get right to the app on the App Store.
